Investing is not all about money. On social media the greatest investments are time and the passion to make things happen. Those who adamantly put in the effort become the influencers others look to because they have become the experts in their field.

No one wakes up and decides to be an influencer. The truly successful ones get noticed by interacting with those they meet online. The more they’re “alive,” the more attention they get.

“Twitter analytics gives you a bird’s eye view of your account,” Martin said. “You see what’s working, how many profile visits did you have, what was your top tweet and so on. Use this data to help better understand your audience and shape your strategy moving forward.

“Use your analytics to figure out what type of content is a ‘top performer’ for you,” he said. “That’s the type of content you’ll want to do more of because it clearly resonates with your audience.”

“Being invested in Twitter means that you’re active and engaged within your community,” Martin said. “You are regularly sharing thoughtful and interesting posts, but are also working to build relationships on the network through your engagements.”
