What is gem in rails???

Gem is a library. If you have developed some functionality like “creating pdf” in Ruby on Rails and you feel its great thing this feature is not provided in any library or you feel that you have developed best one from existing library for PDF then you can create as a ‘Gem’. Once you create the code and pushed the code related to gem in public repository it will be accessible by all.
