The Pomodoro Technique

I had to complete my Machine Design assignment till Friday in which we have hand-draw a gear and pinion profile on a half-scholar drawing sheet. I chose this task for my Pomodoro Project. Initially, it was tough to manage the assigned tasks within the time frame of 25 minutes. It became easier the second time around and I finally completed my task in the third attempt. I gave myself a chocolate bar as the reward. Each time the timer ran out, I was frustrated because of my incomplete work. Keeping my wits about myself and just focusing on the task enabled me to tackle my problem and give productive results.

I can honestly say that the Pomodoro technique is so simple yet so effective. Completing any task is easy if we create a sense of urgency to balance out the psyche of human behavior to procrastinate until the deadline. I learned that by employing simple techniques, we can catalyze our performance and output in a fun and engaging way.
